ZETA has a 100% interest in the Bobocu Licence.
Following negotiations with NAMR, ZETA was granted an enlargement of the Bobocu Licence on 17 December 2008.
The Bobocu Licence contains a mature gas field that ZETA intends to bring back into production by drilling new development wells and, where possible, working over existing wells.
HistoryThe Bobocu gas field was discovered by Romgaz in 1966. The discovery well tested gas at 2.5 MMscf/day and was placed on production in 1977. Peak production of 12.8 MMscf/day was reached in April 1981. The field was abandoned in 1995 due to problems of sand influx in well boreholes from producing reservoirs (this was due to the unconsolidated nature of the sandstone reservoirs).
DevelopmentDuring 2008 ZETA undertook extensive reservoir evaluation and development planning in conjunction with Helix-RDS. As a result of this work ZETA estimates the Bobocu Licence has economic reserves of 51.9 Bcf.
In April 2010 ZETA acquired 75.25km2 (51.3km2 full fold) of 3D seismic over the Bobocu field. This seismic data is now being processed and interpreted.
The primary focus of the 3D seismic is to enhance imaging of flow barriers and to help study discrete facies changes within the deltaic sedimentary environment, with a secondary focus of identifying bypassed gas.
ZETA is planning to sidetrack an existing well on the field in 2011.
